Zwick GmbH Co. KG – One of Germany’s best workplaces

Zwick GmbH & Co. KG has gained 29th place in the Great Place to Work® competition ‘Best Workplaces in Germany 2009’ in the category for companies with 501 to 5000 employees.

The award recognises a particular quality and attractiveness in workplaces and was presented by the Great Place to Work® Institute Germany in the presence of German Employment Minister Olaf Scholz during a major awards ceremony in Berlin.

Zwick GmbH & Co. KG employees had previously taken part in an anonymous detailed survey covering pivotal workplace issues such as quality of management and collaboration, opportunities for professional development and job satisfaction. In addition the activities and concepts of the company’s personnel work were assessed.

‘We are very pleased with this special award, which was ultimately presented to us by our employees, and see it as an endorsement of our commitment to human resources,’ stated Dr. Jan Stefan Roell, Chairman of the Zwick Roell AG.

In total 257 companies of every size and from all sectors and regions faced an independent assessment of their quality and attractiveness as employers by the Great Place to Work® Institute, with over 77,000 employees responding. A total of 100 large, medium-sized and smaller undertakings received the accolade of ‘Best Workplaces in Germany 2009’.

The annual study and ‘Best Workplaces in Germany 2009’ competition were carried out by the
Great Place to Work® Institute Germany in collaboration with the German Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs initiative ‘New Quality of Work' (INQA). Media partners are Handelsblatt and personalmagazin; this year’s competition was also supported by the Asstel Insurance Group and online recruitment agency StepStone.

The award recognizes collaboration between management and employees based on credibility, respect and fairness, a high level of identification by employees with their jobs and a strong team ethos within the company. Great Place to Work® currently carries out studies on workplace quality and attractiveness in 36 countries worldwide.
